Patricia Gately- Director

Patricia Gately is from Maynard, MA. She is a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Education. Her principal instrument is trumpet. She has experience teaching all brass instruments as well as flute, clarinet, saxophone, and percussion. Patricia started studying trumpet at age nine under the direction of Bill Brisson. She has continued to play all kinds of music under excellent teachers including Andrew Sorg, Tony D’Aveni, Jim Guttmann, Christine Fawson, Jeff Stout and Ken Cervenka.

Patricia is a member of and manager for Blueprint Jazz Club. As well as the band leader and manager for the Tony Barrie Band. She has performed all over the New England area.

Tricia’s teaching experience includes various jobs and ages of children. Tricia is the Elementary Band Director for Westford Public Schools. She has experience with the Maynard Public School system as the director of the high school Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. Tricia is currently a private lesson brass instructor and has worked with students ages 8 – 18 years old.  She teaches brass lessons in many different school districts including Hale Middle School in Stow, Sherwood Middle School in Shrewsbury, and both Maynard High School and Fowler Middle School, in addition to other surrounding towns. Tricia also works for a program in the Boston area called “Making Music Matters” where she teaches group trumpet and clarinet lessons to grades 3– 5.  Tricia says, “As long as I am playing music and working with children I will live a happy and successful life. I am looking forward to continuing my musical career through performing and teaching for many years to come.”
